The first direct Chengdu-Bangalore flight took off on February 27th. The flight will greatly strengthen the communication and cooperation on software outsourcing between Chengdu and Bangalore, IT hubs and outsourcing destinations in China and India respectively. 

The new flight is the latest among 12 international lines launched in Chengdu. Air China will operate a Boeing 7 57 twice a week on Thursday and Sunday. The direct service will reduce the flight journey to less than five hours, from the previous 13-hour journey via Hong Kong. Chengdu is expected to take advantage of this opportunity to become a regional hub for cooperation in service outsourcing.
